Wander Around The Markets

Looking to do a little shopping in Sydney? Check out the markets. Popular choices include Bondi Farmers Market, The Flower Market and Paddington Markets. They sell a variety of food and goods. Before heading over, just make sure you check out the times these markets will be open because some of them tend to be seasonal.

See A Show At The Sydney Opera House

This building is impressive with it's white-shelled roof. A variety of shows take place here almost on a daily basis. While in Sydney, buy tickets to see one of the amazing artists that will be performing. Tickets are fairly affordable and some of them start at just $30. If you don't want to see a show or just want to learn more about the Opera House, consider going on a tour. It's fairly affordable at around $25.

Go To The Beach

Sydney is well-known for its beaches. Some of the best surfing in the world can be found here. The water is warm and the area is fairly accessible, even if you are utilizing public transportation. There are restaurants nearby and plenty of places to rent surfboards, paddles boards and other equipment. Popular beaches include Bronte and Manly. There's a ferry that goes to Manly Beach if you want to see some amazing views of the harbor.

Walk Over The Sydney Harbour Bridge

This bridge was built during the Great Depression and has become a landmark to Sydney. You can walk across the bridge for free or pay for a tour where you will get to climb it. It's a great way to see Sydney and get in some exercise too!

See The Rocks

This is considered to be the oldest part of Sydney. It features colonial buildings, small lanes, beautiful churches and interesting pubs. This area also contains art museums, restaurants and weekend markets. While you are at The Rocks you can see extraordinary views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour.

Go On A Museum Tour

There are quite a few museums to visit in Sydney. If you don't want to pay an entrance fee, head on over to the Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbor, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Nicholson Museum or the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia at The Rocks where admission is free. Another amazing museum to visit, which does charge a small fee of about $7, is the Hyde Park Barracks that focuses on the early settlers and colonial life.
